Woody Harrelson nearly declined his part in Zombieland

Zombieland star Woody Harrelson nearly did not except the part in the film. Harrelson says when his long time agent gave him the script he said Zombies, man – who needs another Dracula personification? Really? “Then, when finally, I got around to get deep into the script I discovered it was just out of this world and hilariousely funny.”

Zombieland has its share of mayhem and raving paragons of bodily decay, pic-seuqences taken loving slow motion. But at its heart, it’s a person driven action comedy in which Harrelson’s, quick-trigger character, Tallahassee who is a tough guy whose sense of loss brings him to daring and clever zombie destruction, and he teams up with a man called Columbus – played by the delighting Jesse Eisenberg.
Like Harrelson, Eisenberg had to be strongly prodded into actually reading Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick’s screenplay. Director Ruben Fleischer took pains to assure his cast which also includes Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin as a pair of survival shrewd sisters, that crunchy gore, terror, laughs and human beings could mix effectively.

Zombieland Scarier and Yet Funnier

Deseases spread- and so a mad cow can turn into a mad person which in turn becomes mad zombie- that’s the short of it, and a guy with quick wit and reactions, the virginal twenty-something Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) tells the tale of the apparent worldwide epidemic.

The epidemic apparently started with diseased hamburgers and has now turned all but a handful few into cannibalistic undead. Thus begins "Zombieland," a gleefully whacky horror-comedy that is way funnier and scarier than the famous 2004’s cult classic "Shaun of the Dead."
Making their devilishly good feature debuts, director Ruben Fleischer and screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are in full control of their tricky plot—sarcastic but serious when the need arises—and the movie’s sheer narrative originality is caputring, even if the plot’s motivation is a bit vague and the resolution shaky.
I’d rate this an 8 out of 10 points!
